What I Do To Get Rid of Bed Bugs
I was at a friends' home last year and she told me she has an infestation of bed bugs and they were very annoying. She would see little specks of blood on her sheets that indicated the nighttime activity of the bugs. They were sucking her blood while she slept.
For months, she never did anything about the bugs except complain and the number of bugs grew and grew. When I saw the little bugs, I wondered where do bed bugs come from? It's not as if a home can suddenly become infested with bed bugs without them coming from somewhere. I, of course, did my research and I learned a lot about those little annoying critters. To me, the most amazing thing I discovered is, these bugs can be invisible to the naked eye. Because they are so small, bed bugs are present in most mattresses, in most homes and they will soon make themselves known.
They are transported into the home mainly on our shoes, when we bring them home on our clothes and in some places, the walk in from outdoors. The little buggers prefer to nestle, so they find their way - sometimes from our feet - into our bed. They also do a lot of crawling to get to all of the hiding places in the soft, cushy mattresses and if you have carpet, they also live there, between the fibers.

Most regular bug, insect and roach sprays do nothing to stop the bed bug problem and I read that even the bed bug bombs don't get rid of them completely because they are experts at hiding in tiny cracks and crevices.
Kill Bed Bugs Instantly
One thing that will instantly kill bed bugs is high heat - above 140 degrees. Another thing that will kill bed bugs is rubbing alcohol. So, I spray my bed every week and I make sure I wash all of my bed covers on a very regular basis.
To help keep bed bugs at a minimum - if there is such a thing - a daily vacuuming is crucial that include vacuuming the mattresses, top and bottom.
