Time Restricted Eating AKA Intermittent Fasting I tried it and yes, it does work. I restricted my eating to a specific time frame - from 6PM until midnight. There was no snacking in between and I ate basically whatever I wanted. Lucky me, I like relatively healthy foods and I do not frequent fast-food restaurants. I usually ate a salad and boiled meat. The salad was almost always different but, I had my staples - lettuce, tomato, onion, sauerkraut and slivers of fresh ginger. My meat is always boiled because I like to boil it until it is falling apart and I don't like the dryness and the texture of baked or broiled meat when it is cooked for a long lime.
According to Alton Brown, my food scientist, the longer meat is boiled, the easier it is to digest and wet meat is easier to digest than dry meat. So, if you boil meat for an extended period of time, it will be a lot easier for your body to move it along. When I was restricting my eating that six hour window, I did not need to count calories and I had plenty of time to plan my meals so I made sure I ate a healthy, well balanced diet.
The first day or two was a little difficult but, I soon got used to the schedule. I
